Rain Threatens India vs Australia Semi-Final Match

The excitement for the India vs Australia semi-final match has turned into tension as heavy rain is expected in Navi Mumbai. This important ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 semi-final match is scheduled to take place at DY Patil Stadium on 30th October, but the weather forecast has created worry among fans.

High Chance of Rain in Navi Mumbai

According to AccuWeather, there is a 65% chance of rain in Navi Mumbai on the match day. A few days ago, the India vs Bangladesh match at the same venue had to be cancelled because of rain. Now, the same concern is rising again for this crucial semi-final.
The match is set to start at 3:00 PM, and heavy rain is expected around the same time.

Reserve Day Announced by ICC

To handle the weather issue, ICC has announced 31st October as the reserve day for this semi-final. If rain interrupts play on Thursday, the match will continue from the same point on Friday.
However, the problem is that rain is also predicted on 31st October, with a 90% chance of showers.

What Happens if the Match is Washed Out?

If both days are washed out and no result comes, then Australia will qualify for the final based on ICC rules.
According to the rules, if a semi-final is cancelled due to rain and no result is possible, the team with the better league ranking will move to the final.

Australia won six out of seven matches in the league stage and finished at the top of the table.
Team India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, won three matches, lost three, and had one no result, finishing in fourth place.

Same Rule for South Africa vs England Semi-Final

The same rule applies to the first semi-final between South Africa and England. If that match is also cancelled due to rain, England will qualify for the final as they finished higher than South Africa in the league stage.

Fans Hope for Clear Skies

Indian fans are hoping that rain will not affect the game badly. Even if it rains, they wish the match continues so that India can show their full energy against Australia.
Everyone is waiting to see whether rain will stop this big semi-final or if India will fight their way to the final with strong batting and confidence.
